Sometimes, what it takes to be successful in a given market is finding the right partners. That’s certainly the case with a partnership formed recently by softswitch solutions company ALOE Systems and systems integrator Vera Networks.
Earlier this year, the two companies joined forces, creating the playfully named ALOE Vera partnership.
In a Feb. 7 article, TMCnet Web Editor Juliana Kenny wrote that the purpose of this partnership is, ostensibly, to broaden ALOE’s business and sales growth in North America.

ALOE Systems, rebranded from the original MERA System for better market positioning, began initially as a private company specializing in researches and developments around wireless communications in 1989. The company evolved as it began to involve itself in international software development for the telecommunications industry in 1993, and the developing its one VoIP software product line in 1998. It was only a short while after, in 2001, that ALOE Systems entered the market with VoIP softswitches, launching a new direction within the company – information security in IP networks.
Developer of VoIP softswitches for telecom carriers, ALOE Systems will participate and sponsor the XXVIII Reunion Iberoamericana de Trafico Internacional.
To be held next week, this conference is organized by AHCIET and Telefonica, which gathers together the leading LATAM telecom carriers and vendors.
ALOE Systems also made a new partner in the CALA region recently. According to a release, Identidad Telecom, a provider of termination services into Latin America, will now be officially reselling ALOE Systems softswitches and has become an authorized service dealer.
There is a new name in the carrier-grade softswitch market, yet the power behind the brand is well-known. The company that got its start as MERA Systems (News - Alert) has changed its name to ALOE Systems. MERA Systems was certainly a successful brand, capitalizing on the opportunities within the market of small and mid-sized carriers.
