Toronto, ON, June 8, 2010 - MERA Systems announces the release of a new version of MVTS II. Release 1.4.0 features the support of the video codecs and a new, more flexible mechanism for media traffic management. It also comprises a number of new analytic tools that allow more precise statistics collection and generation of complex reports, thus providing even closer control over carrier’s profitability.
The release comes with a new generation of Traffic Switch that enables flexible and dependable processing of SIP calls, as well as improved codecs handling. The new version of TS guarantees high performance, reliability and compatibility with a variety of equipment. Another new functionality is the support of video codecs (H.261, H.263 and H.264). MVTS II now allows video calls both over SIP and H.323 with and without transfer of media.
The new release was enhanced with the object “Traffic analysis” that allows users to compare amounts of traffic handled by the System within two different periods. This tool can be used to monitor daily fluctuation of traffic and to predict future system load. Also the ASR and ABR calculation function was revised. As of now, ASR/ABR parameters are calculated separately - as provided by MVTS II to the end customer and as provided to MVTS II by certain vendor. This feature grants more informative view on the MVTS II profitability and performance.
MVTS II v.1.4.0 features a new advanced reporting mechanism that dramatically cuts time required for report and invoice generation due to the internal pre-reporting procedure. The object “Advanced reports” provides an exhaustive set of data filtering and grouping options that enables users to generate a variety of reports. It also allows users to select the source of data for reports: CDRs or analyzed statistics.
In this release the CDR backup procedure was revised and improved. New user-friendly mechanism of CDRs backup, including automatic backup, was implemented. The object “CDR backup” allows backup of call detail records to CSV files locally or to an external FTP server.
Carefully verified in MERA Systems’ labs and successfully tested by a number of clients, MVTS II version 1.4.0 is proved to be stable, dependable and user-friendly.
